#88: SCOOPING AND ACCIDENTALLY FINDING MITCH

March 26, 2013

mike, nappier, drunk and paul discuss the following topics……..

supportive folks…….

the kid that shot a baby in the face…….

sweet and sassy……..

mike’s twitter bits…….

ASK DR. NAPPIER (thanks to @oozypoo, @fortyflirth, @starryspice, @indiotechknow and @deadman_talking for the questions)

question 1 sets paul into a story about drugs……..

question 2 is about erectile dysfunction…….

question 3 births the phrase “scooping.”

there’s a whole bunch of questions. it ends up going to the story about a twitter pal (and radio fubar listener) who was outed by the new york post and will more than likely lose his job.  i personally don’t know the guy, but i know that he and i retweeted eachother on multiple occasions and had a few back and forth @ mentions.  seemed like a good dude to me.  i raise the topic of your identity as an individual being none of your employers’ business, but my co-hosts aren’t in the mood to rally behind me. surprise, surprise.

BREAK: NAPPIER DOES WHEN DOVES CRY

what’s in drunk’s mouth? mandy from the firnecast calls in to try for the victory. does she succeed? FIND OUT!

issues with the snow…….

the WFOD hollywood fantasy league……..

WELL……BYE….

the WFOD HOLLYWOOD FANTASY LEAGUE is a new internal contest among the 4 regulars of the wheelbarrow full of dicks internet radio program.  it is a hybrid of both fantasy sports and movies.  our friend jesse started a league in 2010 and i wanted to join….but it was already full. so a few years later….i’m stealing the idea.  so now i get to play. there.

here are the rules copied directly from jesse’s original league (but slightly modified to fit our needs).  if this goes well, we may do it again for june/july, but this is just something we’re trying. let us know if we’re boring you.

The HFL challenges owners to draft movies with the best combination of ticket sales and critical acclaim.

Here’s how it works:

The Draft: Every two months, the owners of the HFL will have a draft to determine which movies are on their team’s roster.

The Rosters: Each owner drafts three movies. The movies must have a release date sometime in the scoring period.

Scoring: Each movie’s score is determined by multiplying its box office revenue by its Metacritic.com score. For example, let’s say Movie X grossed $125 million and had a Metacritic score of 56%. It would earn 70 points for its HFL team. Combine the points of each team’s movies, and you get the team’s overall score.

Scoring notes:

Box office totals are calculated for the first two weeks of a movie’s release.

Metacritic score on the movie’s second week is used.

THE FIRST SCORING PERIOD RUNS FROM APRIL 1ST-MAY 31ST. THERE WAS A SNAKE DRAFT DONE ON THE AIR AND HERE ARE THE RESULTS……..

ROUND 1:

MIKE: IRON MAN 3

NAPPIER: STAR TREK 2

DRUNK: GREAT GATSBY

PAUL: EPIC

PAUL: PAIN AND GAIN

DRUNK: OBLIVION

NAPPIER: EVIL DEAD

MIKE: HANGOVER 3

MIKE: FAST AND FURIOUS 6

NAPPIER: 42

DRUNK: PEEPLES

PAUL: BIG WEDDING

THERE WAS ALSO AN ADDED SIDE FEATURE TO THE REMAINING 4 MOVIES WHERE YOU CAN GAIN BONUS POINTS (10% ADDED TO THE METACRITIC SCORE OF YOUR LOWEST RATED MOVIE) IF YOU CAN CORRECTLY GUESS WHICH MOVIE MAKES THE LEAST AMOUNT OF MONEY IN IT’S FIRST 2 WEEKS OF RELEASE.

DRUNK TOOK BEFORE MIDNIGHT, PAUL TOOK SCARY MOVIE 5, NAPPIER TOOK MUD AND MIKE TOOK LORDS OF SALEM.
