THE RULES

The HFL challenges owners to draft movies with the best combination of ticket sales and critical acclaim.

Here’s how it works:

The Draft: Every two months, the owners of the HFL will have a draft to determine which movies are on their team’s roster.

The Rosters: Each owner drafts three movies. The movies must have a release date sometime in the scoring period.

Scoring: Each movie’s score is determined by multiplying its box office revenue by its Metacritic.com score. For example, let’s say Movie X grossed $125 million and had a Metacritic score of 56%. It would earn 70 points for its HFL team. Combine the points of each team’s movies, and you get the team’s overall score.

Scoring notes:

Box office totals are calculated for the first two weeks of a movie’s release.

Metacritic score on the movie’s second week is used.
